Nostalgia Electrics RKP-630 Retro DIner Style Hot Oil Popcorn Popper Review

(More customer reviews)Two stars because it's cute and when it works I love the popcorn. Wouldn't buy it again though (bought as a Christmas gift- THANKFULLY I DIDN'T GIVE IT TO ANYONE!). Poorly made. The bottom half of the door cracked and fell off the 3rd time I used it (seemingly for no reason other than heat???). Is constantly jamming as the first reviewer said. In my case it's because the lids get stuck and the pressure of the popping corn makes it stop (can you imagine popping popcorn inside a sealed tin can- you're getting the picture). Makes very little popcorn at a time but it's SMALL so that was to be expected. There is a similar popper sold here with different styling (red & yellow- more of a "carnival" style??) that I also ordered and ended up giving as the gift. It had gotten good reviews. The popping mechanism was the same but the quality of the case was better. I was suprised that they were made by the same company. I haven't heard yet how it worked out for them. This one won't last long but I've gotten addicted to it. I'll replace it with a comercial quality one (I found them when I ordered this one for it about $100 more if I remember right). Absolutely worth the upgrade if you're planning to use this more than once. By the way, the pre-measured pouches of popcorn from Wabash Farms (yum!!!) were suggested by Amazon to go with this popper- big mistake. This is a 2oz popper and they are for 6oz poppers. I had to pry the wedged popcorn out with a screwdriver!

I looked at a lot of machines when I was shopping and I picked this one for a couple of reasons. First, it has both a heating unit below the floor and a heat lamp above. Most small units I looked at only had the heat lamp. Second, this machine has glass walls. The doors are hard plastic, but the walls are glass. I was worried that the smaller machines with plastic walls would scratch easily as I scooped the popped corn. I bought a metal popcorn scoop that's tapered to feed a popcorn box and has holes to allow unpopped kernals to fall through. If I had a plastic walled machine, I'd have to be careful how I used the scoop for fear of scratching the walls. But, as another reviewer pointed out, this thing is built like a tank!
One pre-packaged pack of popcorn makes about as much as two typical microwave bags. But it tastes much better! My wife and I love this popper. I've never regretted my purchase!

(More customer reviews)I just moved into a townhouse and wanted something to comfortably watch my big screen tv. This seating is perfect. Very comfortable and very functional. Drink holders and storage inside each wedge for DVDs. I looked at all of the furniture stores in the area and could not find this product and certainly could not find the same value. It shipped in 5 big boxes so it was a little bit of a job to get from the truck to the living room. Also one of the plastic feet on one wedge was busted but it was no problem to get a replacement. This is the ultimate home seating for watching sports and DVDs on a big screen tv.

(More customer reviews)The quality of paper is really bad, its so thin that you can almost see through it and they mail it in a cardboard box but not in a crush resistant canister. My packaged was crushed and the thin poster--which actually was more like a piece of paper had countless creases and wrinkles that I could not get out. Even if the package had not been crushed, I would have been disappointed because of the cheap, cheap quality and weight of the paper. The company should consider listing the weight of the paper or some way to indicate the quality of poster.

(More customer reviews)I saw these at the Circuit City prior to purchasing form Amazon. They came well packed and set up was fairly easy. The leather is soft and you can feel and see the quality and the detail. I have owned them for about one year and they look as good as when I purchased them. They come with stainless steel cup holder (nice feature) that accommodates just about any bottle or glass.
The recliner hardware is a bit jerky and will takes a little extra effort(pushing down on the foot rest)to close but this should be OK for most people to handle, caution if you have a bad back. I had three pieces delivered each had a slightly different texture to the leather but I understand this is a natural material and you will see subtle differences in the leather finish (all cows are not the same). The color on each matched perfectly and the stitching is first rate.
Would recommend.

Whirley-Pop Theater Gift Set with Stovetop Popcorn Popper Review

(More customer reviews)Give the Wabash people a call. They will ask you when you bought the popper and they will register your product. Then they will send you a brand new lid no questions asked. They will continue to do this for the next 25 years. I wish the entire gear system was made of metal, but with impeccable customer service like Wabash provides, I can overlook that.
As for the popper itself, the other reviews pretty much cover it. More fun and healthier than microwave popcorn and easier to store than a hot air job. I use 1/8 cup olive oil to 1/2 cup popcorn and don't even bother turning the gear until I hear the first kernel explode. I'm hoping this will save wear and tear for next time. I melt a tablespoon or two of butter over the top just 'cause I like the taste and add a little salt right in the kettle (be sure to use a potholder...it's hot!). Once the popcorn is gone, I fit the lid back on and stick it back under the cabinet. I don't even bother to wipe it out. Keeps it nice and seasoned!
